Ladies First

Cameron is so sweet to his sister. We have been practicing our "Ladies First" rules. Opening doors, pulling out chairs, letting ladies have turns first, etc. Cameron has embraced it all and has even been known to remind me of the rules. When we take baths he graciously lets his sister have the front spot by the faucet. Not even a fuss. He has such a kind heart. I love seeing him be nice to her.

Back Rubs

At bedtime, I put the kids into their beds and give kisses. Before I leave the room I rub their backs and tell them that their mommy and daddy love them. Apparently this is a very big deal, because one night when I wasn't home and Halsy was doing bedtime, he didn't rub KJ's back. She kept saying something to him over and over again.......he couldn't understand her. The next morning we deducted that she as saying "Back, Daddy!" She wanted him to rub her back like I do. It was so cute. So now Daddy knows the routine too and she loves it!

New Traditions

At bedtime we have been having trouble keeping concentration during prayers. We read books on our big bed and then fold our arms together for prayers. I am constantly reminding them to sit up, or stop playing, or to be quiet during the prayer. I was getting very frustrated. One night I was doing bedtime alone and the kids were super hyper-hypos. I decided to try something new - I told them we are going to do prayers a very special way. I asked them to come onto the floor and do what mommy does. I got on my knees, folded my arms, and bowed my head ready for the prayer. To my surprise, they actually DID IT!! I was so excited I couldn't stop smiling. They stayed there through the entire prayer.

I have been doing this for a week or so now and while we aren't perfect, it has greatly improved. Last night I was so tired......I had walked with my sister early that morning, mopped my parents floors, and was super busy all day. I was not in the mood to get off the bed and onto my knees. I announced prayer time and KJ said "Knees!" and jumped form the bed to kneel around Cameron's bed (where we have been doing prayers) It was so cute and melted my heart. Cam and I followed and we said our prayers together.

I am thankful for little people. They have hope when there really shouldn't be any. They are true to themselves despite what others think; and my favorite, they love to choose the right and please their Heavenly Father.

Is that funny Mommy?

Katey Jane has discovered that she can make me laugh. She is so darn adorable I can't help myself. Now when I start laughing she looks at me and asks "That funny mommy?" with a cute giggle. Of course I say yes and she has to do it again just to get more laughs. Such a ham.

Cameron turns 4!

Our Cameron Boy is 4 years old. WOW. What a big boy we have around here.

We went to see Dr. Palmer and here are his latest stats:
32 lbs (15th percentile)
40 inches tall (50th percentile)

He grew 5 inches this year and gained a whopping 4 1/2 lbs! Way to go buddy.

We love having Cameron around. He is always ready to do something fun.

He loves to play with his cousins and sister. He really enjoys any games that involve chasing, wrestling, tackling, and growling. Yes, these usually end up in some sort of fight, but he is passionately committed to his character through the entire game!

Cameron loves to watch movies. His current favorites are: Any Chipmunk Movie, Happy Feet, Horton Hears a Who, & Beauty and the Beast.

He loves to learn. He really likes preschool and has so much fun every week! He asks a million questions, which can be so exhausting - especially in the car! I like it though, because I find it amazing to hear all the places his brain goes.

He is fully potty trained during the day (with a few accidents sprinkled here and there) and we are working on night time. It is so nice to only have one baby in diapers, for a while :)

Cameron LOVES to be outside. He is definitely a spring baby and lives to be out in the sunshine. We had a week of very hot weather and I think Cameron was outside for at least 8 of the waking hours playing and having a ball!

Cameron pays his mommy the sweetest compliments. He tells me how beautiful I am, or how much he likes my hair. I like it!

Cameron plays well and takes good care of his sister. He talks a lot about having a new baby brother soon too - which makes me happy. It is very fun to have a munchkin know what is happening in my tummy! He give little Landon kisses and hugs. So very adorable.

He is very independent, he can get himself dressed and gives me all kinds of fuss about what he wants to wear that day! He can almost do socks and his snap on his pants all by himself, but everything else is all him and his cute little hands!

He is very athletic, he can run, jump, roll, and twist with the best of them. I can't wait to see where this takes him.

We love our Cameron and are so thankful Heavenly Father blessed our family with his amazing, outgoing, fun-loving, sweet, and happy personality. We can't wait to grown old with you buddy!

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all the beautiful Mothers in my life
For my mother, who is so lovely and wise beyond her years.
For my mother-in-law, who's smile is never ending.
For my sisters, who make me laugh as we experience motherhood together.
For my friends, who help me remember why I love being a mom.

Thank you all for your examples and your love.
