Word Choice

Cameron got an ouch on his chest from a play date this week and it is starting to get better. Tonight while reading books he looked at me and said: "Mommy, my owie on my pec is getting better!"

Who says that? Pec.....Oh I Love this kid.

Messy Miss

Katey Jane loves to feed herself, but that also means a very large mess for Mommy to clean up. So we do a lot of sink baths and she loves them!

My Girly Girl

Purse and Sunglasses provided by Aunt Nana
Outfit provided by me partnered with H&M (my new favorite place to shop for kid clothes!!)
Hair provided by Me
Smile - All Katey Jane!

Love of Girly things? A Blessing straight from Heavenly Father to me! I am in heaven with this girl!

She lets me do her hair every day with hardly a fuss. She asks to wear necklaces, purses, earrings, makeup etc. and actually keeps them on!

She lets Aunt Nana paint her fingernails and toes and then shows them off to anyone who asks.

I LOVE that Katey Jane is a girly girl and I hope it lasts as long as possible :)

Baby Cows are here!!

Baby Cow Season is one of my favorite times of the year!! We only had two mommy cows calving this year and we were on watch everyday. As we drive by the field we would count to mommy cows to see that they were all there. If one was missing there was a good chance she was in the trees with a new baby calf!!
This was the second baby and it was a boy! Grandpa went to check and then came back to get all of us to go and find the new baby in the woods! We got our warmest clothes on and headed out on the mule! It is so fun to go when they are just born because they aren't scared of people yet. We get to pet, love, kiss, and oogle these little darlings!
Oh don't they just have the cutest little faces!! We named this one Francesco - after the Movie Cars of course!
This is really one of my favorite things to do!

Cottage Cheese

Katey Jane LOVES cottage cheese! Every morning for breakfast KJ asks for "Cheece" with a big grin on her face. She eats at least a 1/2 cup along with some fruit and maybe some toast. She just loves her cheese. She wants to feed herself, but still makes a HUGE mess. So I feed her and enjoy it every morning....because someday she won't let me anymore.

Little Prayers

Cameron had a really hard day last week - if you remember, it was the day I tried to sell him on facebook for FREE :) Anyways.......we made it to bedtime and I was so excited. Getting pajamas on was horrible and there was crying, screaming, whining the entire way. I was told by Cameron "I like Daddy better than you" and "Boys are cooler than girls, but girls are prettier". I was thinking, "Hey! How does Daddy get the favorite card when I've given you my blood sweat and tears today.....!!"

We made to prayer time and it was Cameron's turn. He started and mumbled very fast the entire prayer. I reminded him how we say prayers: tell him what you're thankful for, ask him for blessings, and tell him you love him. We talked about things you could ask for blessings about and then he started again.

"Dear Heavenly Father, I am thankful for my family. Please bless Daddy, because he is Awesome. Love you, Name of Jesus Christ Amen."

I about died. How cute and yet slightly annoying is that! Oh Cameron.

The Baby moves

I felt little Carter Baby #3 move today! I love this point in pregnancy!! I am starting to look "Pregnant" instead of "Fat" and I feel great. Feeling baby move brings such comfort and happiness to me. It is my random reminder of how amazing it is that a little person is growing in my tummy. My very favorite part is coming next........finding out Boy/Girl, in 3 weeks or so I will have my ultrasound!

I am actually not leaning one way or the other, a boy would be so fun since I haven't had one for a while and I think Cam would enjoy a brother. A girl would be lovely so that sisters could be close in age and that i will get to continue enjoying girly things with my ladies! All in all I hope baby is healthy.

15 weeks and getting excited!

Pregnancy is going so well!! I now remember why I love being pregnant! My nausea is GONE (for 2 weeks now)! My tiredness has much improved and I don't have as many weird tastes in my mouth. I can feel my uterus creeping up over my pelvic bone and I always love that! It is getting harder to suck it in so maternity pants are my best friend! I am still craving Mexican food and dairy is not my best friend, but most things are just lovely! I am getting excited to feel baby move and to find out what this little one is!! At my last appointment my doctor was able to use the little doppler thingy and I got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time! It was so relaxing to hear the little swishes. Up until now they had to bust out the ultrasound machine to make sure they could see the heart fluttering (nerve racking), but this time it was super easy, as it should be, and it was wonderful! Cameron and Katey Jane got to hear it too! Hopefully this feelin' good streak will continue and I will enjoy being pregnant as always!

Newest member of the Carter Clan!

It is so crazy that I am an adult. I do things that I remember my parents doing. I giggle from time to time when I think about how old I am; I have two kids, I pack things for trips, I keep lists everywhere, I fold loads of laundry piled on the couch, just those everyday things I remember my mom and dad doing.

Well I've added to my "adult" list. We have finally gotten a new car! Its a Mini-van and I am in pure heaven!! We knew we needed one with Carter baby #3 on the way, but weren't sure how we could do it with our limited funds and student status. All things came into place and we got everything we wanted/needed plus more! I love it, the kids love it, my family loves it cuz now we can all fit together to go do things!

I love that I no longer drive a stick shift. I am diggin' the dvd system, although I am pretty sure the kids and I are already addicted to it :) Katey Jane's newest word is "mobie" (movie). I am just having so much fun. The space, the automatic doors, the heating and A/C that works!!! It is so wonderful!

Hunting and a Muffin Plant

Cameron and I were watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and he was in West Virginia. He was out hunting Deer, squirrels, etc. They show then hunting it, skinning, it, hanging it, carving the meat, etc. Cameron was enamored with it. The show got over and we went upstairs to get ready for the day. We were in the car about an hour later and the following conversation ensued:

Cameron: Mommy, I want to be a hunter. Like those guys on the TV, I want to go get a deer.

Me: Well, you could do that if you want to I guess. But you have to wait until you are much older because guns are very dangerous and if you aren't super careful you could hurt someone.

Cameron thought about that for a while. Then spoke up with:

Cameron: Mom, do Deer give is chicken?
Me: No, Deer give us Venison.

We talked about all the different kinds of meats: pork from pigs, beef from cows, etc. Then he was quiet for a minute and came back with:

Cameron: Mom, what makes muffins? (he LOVES poppy seed muffins)

Me: Bakers do.
Cameron: No Mommy, what animals make muffins.
Me: Animals don't make muffins, plants do.
Cameron: Well, Mommy............I've never seen a muffin plant?
Me: Hahaha Cameron you are too cute. There are no muffin plants, just plants that make the ingredients to make a muffin.

After a longer discussion we both determined that Ovens make muffins!
